for Newton OS

MobileBackup is the only backup solution for NewtonOS, which supports automatic backups. After you have chosen once WHAT to save, WHERE and WHEN, MobileBackup will perform this job at predefined times automatically.

Furthermore MobileBackup is the only Newton application which includes a memory defragmenting function. You may gain a performance boost and memory increase with this function. Depending on the level of fragmentation you can recover between 10 - 200 Kbytes of previously lost memory, concluding this process.


	Backup data This is where you choose which data you want to secure. You can select each soup and package you want to save. If you selected a special group of items you can group them together into a "backup profile", which you can reuse for further backups and hence do not need to choose them manually again. E.g. you want to backup all Newton-Soups. Select them once and call this backup profile "Newton soups". Next time you want to backup these soups, you simply have to select "Newton soups" from the profile picker and start the backup.


	Restore data This is where you can access backup data, soups and packages. You can restore each soup and each package individually. Tapping on an item will show the info slip which contains information on the size, creation date, last modification date of this item. You can also keep an automatic backup of a second memory card (at least of the important soups, if space is rare). This way you will have secured ALL of your valuable data on one single memory card!


	Backup schedule This is where you can define as many scheduled times for automatic backups as you like. You should define at least one daily automatic backup of the whole internal memory. This way you will always have your valuable data at hand, if your Newton crashes. Simply restore the last backup from the memory card and carry on working in minutes! You can also create an automatic backup of a second memory card (at least of the important soups if space is rare). This way you will have secured ALL of your valuable data on one single memory card!
